Coronavirus: Another 5 areas enter the red.
New areas are entering “red” as coronavirus cases remain at high levels in Greece. The five regions of the country raised the level of risk in the Epidemiological Map and from orange (level 3) they now have entered red (level 4).
Those areas are:-
Thesprotia,
Rethymno,
Arta,
Laconia and
Corinth.
24 of the 50 regions of the country remain in deep red (level 5) are:
Thessaloniki
Arcadia
Mount Athos
Achaia Larissa
Magnesia
Kilkis
Imathia
Pieria
Evros
Pella
Xanthi
Drama
Messinia
Serres
Trikala
Kavala
Kozani
Karditsa
Halkidiki
Ionnina
Fthiotida
Thassos
Lesvos
At level 4 and level 5 the exact same measures apply.
The increased epidemiological burden of the country is reflected in the daily admissions to hospitals.
Coverage in Covid ICU beds throughout the country has now reached 90% while in northern Greece and Thessaly areas plagued by the severity of the Delta mutation, the situation is getting out of control in heavy hospitalization.
Only in the 30 hospitals of the 3rd and 4th Health District (RA) of Macedonia and Thrace, 1,383 patients are treated in single beds, high oxygen flow beds and intensive beds.
