This is how schools will open on September 12 – What will apply in case of a covid outbreak.
The use of a protective mask remains optional in schools which will open on September 12.
The government, accepting the unanimous recommendation of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Health which met on Tuesday 30th August, recommends that self-tests be carried out in case of symptoms.
In their joint statement, the Ministries of Health and Education stress that as a general guideline, when a child shows symptoms they stay at home (as is the case with any case of viruses or infection).
In case of a positive covid case, the isolation measures applicable to the general population are applied, i.e. stay in isolation for at least five days and avoid contact with other people.
After five days of isolation and if there are no symptoms or the symptoms improve after five days with a complete subsidence of the fever for a 24-hour period without the use of antipyretics, isolation is stopped.
A child can only return to school with mandatory use of a high respiratory protection mask (N95 or KN95 or FFP2) or a double mask for at least another five days from the end of isolation.
Observance of hand hygiene.
Sufficient ventilation of the premises, in accordance with the applicable instructions.
Sanitary measures will be reviewed in the event of a change in epidemiological data.
