Greece:- Measures – Thoughts on lifting restrictions – What will apply to stadiums, restaurants and music The decision to relax the restrictive measures will be taken after the meeting of the committee of experts on Wednesday

The extension of the restrictive measures imposed before the New Year and valid until January 17 has been put on the table of experts and the government. The government spokesman, Giannis Oikonomou, was asked about the issue in today’s briefing of the political authorities and as he said, the government will wait for the suggestion of the Experts who meet on Wednesday in order to decide.

However, according to information, the discussion for relaxation of the measures in restaurants and stadiums has already fallen on the table.

What is being examined:-

According to SKAI T.V, two stages of easing the restrictions are being considered:

Increase the crowds in the stadiums, so that more than a thousand people (vaccinated / and those who have recovered from covid) can watch the games.

Restore music to catering and entertainment, but with all customers seated and shops closed at 12.00pm.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the experts are expected to have the first, informal meeting on the issue of relaxation of the measures. However, according to the same information, committee officials would like the measures to be extended for another week until January 23.

The measures in force today

  • Restaurants and entertainment shops are open until 12 midnight without music, 6 people per table, not standing and a moderate distance to the table seats. Among the prohibitions is the prohibition of holding a party events in a public or private place, in order to avoid the transfer of entertainment to other places.
  • The use of a high protection mask (FFP2 / KN95) or double in supermarkets, on public transport and where there is congestion, this also means schools, as well as by restaurant workers, is mandatory.
  • Teleworking application in public and private sector up to 50% and rolling hours, depending on the capabilities of each service.
  • Visit only with a 48-hour PCR test in nursing homes and hospitals, while medical facilities are not allowed to enter medical facilities.
  • In the stadiums the fullness of vaccinated spectators is up to 10% of their capacity, with a spectator ceiling of 1,000 people. If the measures are not observed, the matches will be held behind closed doors.
