Greece:- Over 148,000 cases of coronavirus in the last week and 200 deaths, 679 in Zakynthos

The weekly report of cases was issued by EODY a little while ago (concerns the period 11 – 17 July 2022), with the new cases of COVID-19 being 148,435. At 200 deaths from the coronavirus and 115 patients being intubated. 679 cases were announced in Zakynthos.

In detail, the report states:

Over 148,000 cases of coronavirus in the last week and 200 deaths, 679 cases in Zakynthos

The weekly report of cases was issued by EODY a little while ago (concerns the period 11 – 17 July 2022), with the new cases of COVID-19 being 148,435. At 200 deaths from the coronavirus and 115 patients being intubated. 679 cases were announced in Zakynthos.

In detail, the report states:

In the reference week, 148,435 cases of COVID-19 were recorded (13,723 per million population: -1% weekly change) of which reinfections account for 18% of infections. The total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 4,210,771 of which 51.7% are women.

The total number of admissions to the territory’s hospitals in the reference week was 2,540 patients (7-month period: 363, 11% weekly change), while the total number of discharges amounted to 2,097 patients (7-month period: 300, 25 % weekly change).

The number of intubated patients by the end of the reporting week is 115 (63.6% men) with a median age of 71 years and 92.4% having an underlying disease and/or age of 70 years or older.

In the reporting week, 200 deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded (18 per million population: 15% weekly change), while since the start of the epidemic a total of 30,707 deaths have been recorded, with 95.7% having an underlying disease and/or age 70 or older.

The median age of the cases is 38 years, while the median age of the dead is 80 years.
