Today the Greek government announced that travel restrictions for tourists to Greece in 2022 would be changed.
The changes will come into effect from the 1st of May 2022 and end on the 31st of August 2022. During these dates, tourists to Greece will not have to provide proof of a Covid vaccination or a Covid positive certificate, to access indoor and open spaces such as restaurants, theatres and clubs. From the 1st of June the requirement to wear masks indoors is also being removed, although this may change and be brought forward, but as yet it isn’t confirmed.
At present tourists to Greece still require an EU digital COVID-19 certificate to get into the country but the removal of this is also currently being looked at for the duration of summer 2022.
The Greek government have said that all of the measures above that are being removed for this summer season, will be looked at towards the end of the summer and if they need to bring any of them back in for the autumn they let people know.
