Who are we and what is a typical day like?
Zakynthos Informer is a team of dedicated volunteers, who spend their time highlighting the beauty, traditions, and tourist highlights of the island to anyone who wants to know more. Many of our members have been supporting us since the start of our dedicated Facebook group 12yrs ago, and they love the island just as much as we do.
Everyone on the Zakynthos Informer team has a connection with the island, and it’s these connections that enable us to do what we love best, showing off the island to as many people as possible!
Many people think we’re just a Facebook group, but there’s much more to Zakynthos Informer, and we often get asked what a typical day for us looks like for us. So, in this post, we’ll try and give you an idea.
What does a typical day look like for the Zakynthos Informer team?
No two days are the same and this is why we love it so much. As a team we have a lot of tasks we cover each week, sometimes daily, the following list gives you a good idea of what the team is doing at any given moment of the day:
- Approving members and posts on Facebook
- Adding our own content to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- Monitoring Facebook for any issues that may come up
- Dealing with queries in Messenger (these can be anything from a simple question to something much more complex!)
- Monitoring Twitter and Instagram for any issues that may come up
- Managing the Zakynthos Informer email account
- Checking government and news sites daily for information to write up for the website
- Translating information into English where necessary
- Researching and writing blogs posts for the website
- Image creation for social media, website, and company branding
- Content creation and seasonal post planning
- Creating videos and uploading to YouTube
- Dealing with advertising requests
- Website maintenance/updates
- Website SEO and insights
- Tracking Google updates and dealing with AdSense
- General Administration
As you can see the list is extensive. We aren’t just Facebook admins at Zakynthos Informer. We’re a very busy complex business and it takes a lot of time and effort for the team to keep it all going.
As we celebrate our 12th birthday, we would like to thank you all for your support. It has been amazing, and we look forward to continuing to do what we all love over the coming years.
