Today, Matthew Lodge, the new British Ambassador to Greece visited Island FM radio and joined Bobby Gee for an exclusive interview. Mr Lodge has replaced Kate Smith CMG as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic in Greece and has been in post since August 2021. Mr Lodge has an extensive career and Bobby took the time to ask him some important questions affecting both British Nationals, residents and tourists.
A number of significant questions were discussed and included the following:
- Healthcare for British Nationals and tourists since Brexit
- The GHIC (Global Health Insurance) card
- English workers on the island and Visa’s required
- Voting rights for British National living in Greece
- Freedom of movement rules for British Nationals who own property in Greece
- Issues with Laganas and cooperation to try and resolve
- Island infrastructures such as the airport and the harbour docking for cruise ships
- The number of hospital doctors and ambulances throughout the year
