The fire that broke out on Monday afternoon, in low vegetation in the Skala area of Kefalonia, was brought under control in the early hours of today, Tuesday.
Due to the strong winds, the fire quickly took dimensions, threatening residential areas with villas and a hotel complex. However, thanks to the immediate intervention of the fire service and volunteers, the danger was removed.
28 firefighters with 1 pedestrian action team and 8 vehicles were operating at the scene throughout the evening, while 14 firefighters with 1 pedestrian action team and 3 vehicles arrived by boat from Kyllini.
