A recent Greek on line news paper “https://www.newsbeast.gr/” tributed Zakynthos and more specific “the shipwreck”, with the title reading “The superstar beach of the Ionian Pictures that go around the world”.
Of course Zakynthos Informer totally agrees,
Here’s what the paper had to say.:-
Recommendations are unnecessary for the Ionian superstar beach. Even if you haven’t been to the famous Navagio beach of Zakynthos, you will surely have heard of its existence or seen some of its photos that are going around the world, with the now famous rusted wreck of the merchant ship “Panagiotis” . Combined with the vertical and imposing rock right behind it, the golden sandy beach and the dreamlike waters of the Ionian Sea, the scenery here looks magical.
Awarded several times by international travel media, the star beach of Zakynthos is located in the northwestern part of the island, in the wider area of Volimo, at a distance of 22 km from the center of the city of Zakynthos.
Sound familiar? Well to our members of course it would!!.
However, Zakynthos Informer won’t stop at the “Navagio”, as we locals call it. We have beautiful coves all around Zakynthos, the most recent marvel being Saint Dimitrios beach.
This beach is located at Myzithres and was formed in 2018 after the earthquake on 26th, of October of that year. Hence the date being the feast day of Saint Dimitrios and us Zakynthians open our barrels of wine, why not give this beach the name, and that’s exactly what we did.
So, as you see our Island is full of mystery and stories to tell, it is waiting for you to explore her just as the paper descibes, she is truely a jem!!
