Yes you read it right, a festival of a different kind by our mountain village of Agio Leonta.
So, just what is happening in the village, you may ask….Well, the locals are getting together for food, song and dance…. here’s what they have to say:-
The 10th Goat Festival!!
12 years have passed since that warm August night when a group of friends and fellow villagers had made a date at Selini to eat boiled goat in tomato soup!
Since then, the cauldron began to deepen and a medicinal tomato soup took place, which warmed our hearts and stomachs for 8 consecutive years. Two years of deprivation, doubt and abstinence from sympathy and hugs followed, and thus the festival froze.
But the time has come to meet again, the time for the 10th GOAT FESTIVAL!
This year we will have the pleasure of having two musical groups accompany the evening, a folk one with Marianna Semitekolou and Dionysis Margaris and a traditional Zakynthian one with Stamiris Andreas, Spyros Liveris and Yiannis Polistaris.
