The Red Arrows display team are currently in Greece completing training sessions before a busy summer 2022 of scheduled events. The training exercise is called Exercise Springhawk and the team said on their website and social media that they will be spending about four weeks in Greece to perfect and polish their 2022 display. The team, who normally train in Croatia have chosen Greece due to the conditions and clear blue skies which help them to perfect their intricate routines. This year they will also be flying in a seven plane formation this year instead of a nine formation.
Our talented photographers have been busy taking images of pre-season training in #Greece. It’s been a productive week for each #RedArrows section, including @DyeTeam_RAFAT – adding the famous red, white and blue to the sorties. 🔴⚪️🔵

The team are currently based north of Athens in Tanager at the . Their four-week training consists of flying three times a day, five days a week. Once their training is complete the team will then head back to the UK at the end of May in time for them to get ready for a packed summer of events.
The summer season of events will see them perform at many air shows, festivals, and the Silverstone Grand Prix. There is hope that they will perform for Platinum Jubilee events too, but we will have to wait and see! You can get updates and follow progress on their training on their Twitter account. There are some excellent photos too. A list of the Red Arrows summer events can also be found on their website.
We wish the whole team a great month and hope they enjoy training in Greece. Have a great summer flying season!
