Schools of Secondary Education in Zakynthos record shortcomings in teaching of Physics, English, Art, Music and Computer Studies. More specifically, the shortcomings relate to 7 teachers needed to fill the gaps and most are needed for the Music School.
The “Teachers Training Rally Committee” and ELME President Fotis Provis informed the Ministry of Education that they were able to know at a very high rate from the beginning of the year the shortcomings that exist in each school to make its program. This figure reaches 95% and the fact that many vacancies are covered by temporary teachers shows the political direction of the Ministry.
At the moment in Zakynthos it is noted that from the 320 teachers within secondary schools 82 of them are substitutes.

• At Music School, 110 hours of Music lessons are lost every week due to their politics of indecision

• Vacancies in Technology at Machairadou High school
• Art at the high school at Vanato
• Technical specialties at the EPAL (technical school)
• At the high school – senior high school Volimes, pupils are not taught Physics and Art
