Sirens….alert…Sirens
The Ministry of Citizen Protection announced that on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, during the TAMS Exercise “PARMENION-21”, a test activation of all Civil Defense alarm sirens will take place throughout the country, as follows:
• 11:00 local time, air strike alarm signal, for a period of sixty (60) seconds (intermittent sound of different volume),
• 11:05 local time, alarm end signal, for a period of sixty (60) seconds (continuous sound of constant volume).
It is also made known to the public that the activation of the Civil Defense alarm sirens has a purely test purpose and therefore there is no reason for confusion or concern.
Sirens will sound after 10 years on our island!
Tomorrow the sirens will sound on our island as well, as after 10 whole years, the necessary replacements and interventions were made by the Municipality…
According to information, the Municipality allocated the amount of 10,000 euros for their placement.
While it is worth mentioning that the municipal authority was mobilized to make this intervention after a document sent by the Police Director of Zakynthos, Theodoros Tsatsaris.
