Zakynthos:- Covid centres officially open

Inauguration with Member of Parliament and Deputy Regional Governor Zakynthos Vaccination Centers are on full alert.

D. Aktypis: “Vaccination will start on January 20  for the general population”

One of the two vaccination centers of our island, was visited on the occasion of the inauguration of the area by MP Dionysis Aktypis and Deputy Regional Governor George Stasinopoulos, in the presence of the Head of Civil Protection of P.E. Zakynthos Maria Mouzaki.
The vaccination of the medical staff at the General Hospital of Zakynthos is expected to start on January 12, while the vaccination with the older citizens will follow at the two vaccination centers in the city of Zakynthos and in Katastari.
The MP of Zakynthos, referring to the new effort that is starting, announced that the vaccinations in the general population will start on January 20, while he stressed that “until then we want to believe that we will have vaccinated the medical staff and private doctors and from January 20 it will start the general population. It is the second category which is from 60 and over and which group will start from 85 years and over which we estimate is around 100,000 people. On the 20th of the month we estimate that we have started the vaccinations. By then, all health professionals will have been vaccinated. ”
Mr. Aktypis wished good strength to the staff of the vaccination centers and stressed that he will give a lot of attention to make the whole process run smoothly “because it is a difficult task what we are starting to do regarding the process that we have to follow for vaccinations and which it must be utterly formal and we must be done carefully. “As said, there is no problem with the side effects and a very large number of people worldwide have been vaccinated at the moment and it does not seem that the vaccine is causing major problems.”
The MP of Zakynthos pointed out that there are 152,000 doses at the moment in the warehouses of EODY, while he pointed out that 25,000 people have been vaccinated in Greece. He also responded to the leader of the Official Opposition, Alexis Tsipras, clarifying that everything is going well with the vaccinations and added “we have achieved the average. vaccines that all European countries have and need special attention because this vaccine has a peculiarity in terms of freezing and we will be careful how we distribute it. The army has taken over the distribution of the vaccine. Special care must be taken not to miss doses and on the other hand the vaccine must be safe to be given to humans. “There are no amateurs here and we have to show full responsibility for what we start because if a mistake is made, then the whole system will blown up with it.”
