Today at 10.00a.m our fire fighting services put into action a preparatoy drill to enhance their procedures and operational actions applied as a response to a possible forest fire.
The drill took place in the area of Logos in Vasilikos. All were present during the exercise on how to deal with a large forest fire with the code name DIA PYROS 2022.
Also present was Lieutenant General George Pournaras, Chief of Staff of the Fire Brigade, who was in Zakynthos to attend the exercise, while he had the opportunity to speak with the Commander of the Fire Brigade on a number of important issues for the service.
An EKAB ambulance also participated in the exercise in order to pick up an injured person and all the procedures that would take place in a real incident were followed.
