In a move by the Municipality of Zakynthos, which has already caused a lot of negative reactions, to proceed in erecting a massive construction, in the middle of the famous beach, known as ” Shipwreck”, interfering with the natural environment and beauty and “hiding” the ship which has become world wide known landmark.
The photos of the construction of the lifeguard tower, which were posted on social media, have already provoked reactions. The massive construction was not placed, unknown why, to the left or to the right of the ship “Panagiotis” or to a more discreet and safe place at the same time, but right in front of it and in the middle of the beach front
The reactions focus on the fact that the construction is bulky, excessive and completely out of line with the point and it is emphasized that it should be much smaller and more discreet.
According to information, the Municipality acted without informing the Shipwreck Management Committee, whose members complain to the municipal authority about expediency, pointing out that the move is out of any planning and agreement.
