Zakynthos:- TUI apologizes for Over 40 hour delay from Cardiff to Zakynthos.

TUI has apologized for a series of long flight delays this week – including to Greek destinations – from UK airports.

Tourismtoday.gr reports that the airline emphasizes that it “did everything” to reduce flight delays due to lack of staff at airports.

Travelers had to wait more than 40 hours for a flight from Cardiff Airport to Zakynthos.
Delays of more than 24 hours were reported in other flights to Ibiza and Dalaman.

The day before yesterday, holidaymakers had to wait almost 20 hours to travel from Exeter airport to Crete due to “technical and operational problems”. From the same airport there was a long delay in a TUI flight to Rhodes.

As the airline announced “we apologize to some of our customers who have experienced flight delays in recent days.

As the UK’s largest holiday company, our priority is to transport our customers safely.

We continue to work closely with airport managers to monitor the situation and provide the best possible holiday experience to our customers.

We do everything we can to reduce any flight delays that may occur from time to time for various business reasons.

“In rare cases of flight delays, we will do everything we can to support our customers, through direct communication and providing overnight accommodation and transportation where needed, as well as meals and refreshments.”

The airline reminds how the standard check-in opens at least two and a half hours before departure time for short and medium haul flights and at least three and a half hours before departure for long haul flights.

At some airports, TUI offers one-day baggage check-in as well as self-service luggage.

The Unite workers’ union has warned that delays at most major airports during the Easter holidays will be “even worse” this summer.
