Zakynthos:-  Volunteers in action despite the heatwave.

Volunteer actions are still in force even though Zakynthos has been hit with a heatwave. This time it was a group of young volunteers from the Summer Camp run by Takis and April  Korianitis at Porto Koukla.

This year April mentions that due to coronavirus it has been a difficult two years for the summer camp, but with the few local children we have been able to get out this year and help in the community where we can.

Deciding to keep the children a way from crowded areas they went and spent the day in the cool breeze at the old English water duct, located in Zakynthos town Kero Neri.

It was here they decided to get a clean up campaign and do what they could to make the area a little bit brighter.

It’s volunteers like these that give hope to all of us on the Island. Volunteering has now become part of our community and hopefully as more and more people become involved our Island will improve in its ways.

Well done to the young team and of course the organizers… GO VOLUNTEERS once again <3
